Como eu digo : Corrigimos os exercícios aos pares de unidades.
1 com a 2 e assim em diante.
Já vi o Odd and even, mas acho que não é bem isso que se usa neste caso. Já vi também o in pairs, mas não sei se serve assim. We corrected the exercises in pairs ( acho que fica parecendo que foram duas pessoas que corrigiram juntam). Vi o pairwise e foursome, mas fiquei sem entender. Como eu diria isso então?

One way to express that is:

"homework and exercises" or "textbook exercises" will be corrected (in class) two chapters at a time. (sometimes the book chapter can be a topic, then "two topics at time." or "two units at a time")

In sum, with that you mean that chapters 1 and 2 will be corrected first, then 3 and 4, next time it will be 5 and 6. And so on.

By saying "in pairs" the students will understand that they will join in pairs (groups of two). Sometimes they inform that it will "in groups of three", etc.
