Bem bacana, cara, mas o sentido era mais no sentido de crescer sob perspectiva de classe social, que nem agente diz aqui no Brasil "Olha, o fulano saiu daquela situação e conseguiu crescer". Tá, faltou eu explicar, admito. Mas valeu mesmo a resposta e o artigo.

Creio que eu de fato não havia entendido sua dúvida.
De qualquer forma, eu recomendo o uso das expressões to get ahead in life, que significa algo como subir na vida/crescer na vida e to get ahead financially, que significa crescer economicamente/ obter sucesso financeiro.
Exemplos:
People often perform reprehensible acts in order to get ahead in life.
As pessoas frequentemente cometem atos condenáveis para subir na vida.
"Here are 4 lessons to help you get ahead financially" (Seguem abaixo 4 lições para te ajudar a crescer financeiramente): http://www.tesh.com/story/money-and-fin ... 2/id/25829
