Excellent post, Joilson. You're quite correct in using "lie down" to mean "se deitar". Regards

I´d say:

I'm so tired, i'm gonna lie on the bed after lunch.

Is it right?
You don't need to say "on the bed," if you say "lie down." It is implied that you will lie in bed.

"Lie down" is a phrasal verb meaning to rest, to take a nap (short sleep, doze off for a while, cat nap, power nap).

I'm going to lie on the couch or lie on the bed = you are going to be stationary on the couch, as opposed to lying on the floor. We say objects lie on things (shelves, the bed, the dresser, the floor).

Where did you find your watch? It was lying on the table.
Where did you find your keys? They were lying on the table.
Where did you find your wallet? It was lying on the table.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/lie item number three explains it best. You wouldn't say I will lie on the bed when they mean they will lie down : take a nap, (cochilo, I think).

Esse link é interessante: https://www.englishexperts.com.br/qual- ... ou-mentir/

pois fala de lie = deitar e lie = mentir, q são dois verbos diferentes, apesar de terem a mesma grafia, mas o passado muda. in short, it's worth taking a look at this ;)

Troublesome verbs are very interesting.

Lie - lay - lain: deitar-se, estar situado (intransitivo).
Lay - laid - laid: pôr, colocar (transitivo)
