In Portuguese language, the expression "uma vez que" is used to apply two different situations:
1st: To give a reason or explain something. In this situation, we should use the term "since".
2nd: Time clauses ("uma vez que" = when). We recommend to use the term "once" or "when".
I believe you could say:
"I guess it will be tough to get used to the cold (weather) there, since it is hot in Brazil". <<INFORMAL>>
"As it is very warm in Brazil, I believe it will be difficult to get accustomed to the cold (weather) there. <<FORMAL>>
There is no need to use the word "weather" since the main idea, which is related to the weather, is already emphasized at the beginning of the sentence.
