Não podemos acatar essas leis em pleno século XXI. É inconcebível!

Eu fiz uma pesquisa e só encontrei "in the 21st century". Entretanto, eu queria algo que enfatizasse a expressão, como a portuguesa.

E.g:

In the middle of the street = em plena rua
In the middle of London = em plena Londres
In the middle of winter= em pleno inverno

A expressão por si só já é enfática. Você poderia usar "here", "here in the 21st century".
