Não discordando de Simon que é contundente, acredito que poderíamos usar num sentido mais brando o verbo to look up to: admirar, com o sentido de espelhar-se, imitar; por exemplo: the child looks up to his daddy and say he´s gonna be a fireman too; the girls look up to the actresses and long to became one of them too.
