Como dizer "Escalar um assunto" em inglês
Hello guys
As I work on support, I need to "raise the priority" of an issue quite often.
I've been using "step it up", as I think it has double meaning and one of them is valid:
- To improve something/yourself (raise the level)
- To increase the importance of an issue
Heard some co-workers using "escalate", and despite the fact that the dictionary tells me that it's OK, it really sounds awkward.
What expression/words do you guys use on these situations?

Em pequena escala,
"To beef up the subject matter".
"To reinforce the subject".

Eu entendo "escalar um assunto" como "levar o assunto para ser discutido por alguém superior"
Está certo?

My suggestions based on what I have understood:
To upgrade the level of importance (of the problem).
To highlight the problem (meaning that the problem requires more attention.
Bye!
