Alguém saberia como se dizer quando uma pessoa "estreita" ou "aperta" os olhos para poder enxergar melhor algo que está à distância?

People squint when they try to read something that is not clear, or when the light is too bright.
I've never heard "to squinch" in the USA. Perhaps it is from the UK.
