"Miss" não servirá nesse caso, mas "miss" tem uma multitude de significados

I miss her = eu sinto falta dela
I missed your call = eu não estava disponível quando vc ligou
I missed the bus = perdi o ônibus
someone (s'thing) is missing = alguém (algo) está sumido

You missed your calling = ?? (fica como deafio...)
etc
