Como dizer "faz frio / faz calor" em inglês

Olá galera!

Como eu poderia traduzir as seguintes expressões? Poderia usar apenas It's cold ou hot ou há algum outro modo de expressar isto?

Está fazendo frio aí onde você está?
Faz muito calor lá onde meu primo mora.

When talking about the weather we add the word "out" to the temperature description.

Exemplos:
  • It's hot out today. OR It's pretty hot here, how is the weather out your way? How is the weather where you live/are? What's the weather doing where you live/are? How's the weather treating you?
  • It's really hot out there in California where my cousin lives/is living.
  • It's cold out. It's freezing out.
