Como dizer "Fechar a boca (comer menos)" em inglês

Galera,

Eu estava dando aula sobre a estrutura "to be + supposed to" e meus alunos perguntaram como dizer fechar a boca no sentido de que, para emagrecer, você precisa fechar a boca. Pesquisei e não encontrei nada convincente dentro do contexto.

Desde já, muito obrigado.

1. Cut down on your eating

Do Jornal Britânico Dailymail:

"I’ll never forget her looking over her desk, and saying, "Don’t you think it’s about time you cut down on your eating and started taking some exercise?"

2. Start eating less

While the quest for the proverbial Fountain of Youth is endless and typically fruitless, one method known to extend the human lifespan by up to five years has quietly become accepted among leading researchers. The formula is simple: Eat less. It could add years to your life, several experts now say. And done in moderation, it could at least help you live a more healthy life.

Bons estudos!

Not to be obese, you rather not pig out on bacon and fat food/unhealthy food all the time.
Just because a food is organic, doesn't mean that you should pig out on it.

It covers two topics, it uses the verb to be and the "fechar a boca" (not...pig out), it may have others ways to say that. This was just one of them.

In a more formal way, you could use "you rather not consume (a lot of) unhealthy food/fat food/junk food/sugary food etc"
Or, for instance, say that "you should eat less...sugar/fat...eat in moderation, yada yada yada...
