Would these work?

"They just keep giving me the run around instead of working."
"They just keep sidetracking me..."

Olá Pessoal,

Mais sugestões: Stall, Jerk around
  • They just keep stalling instead of working! [Eles ficam enrolando ao invés de trabalhar.]
  • Don't jerk us around. [Não fique nos enrolando.]
Bons estudos.
Pessoal,

"hanging around" poderia ser usado nesse contexto também?

"They just giving me hanging around instead of working".

Olá Catunda,

Dependendo do contexto pode até ser. Tipo:

They hang around the mall all day instead of working. (Eles ficam enrolando o dia todo no shopping ao invés de trabalhar.)

Hang around: Fazer hora, ficar à toa.

Boa sorte!
What about "beating around the bush"?

Paulo,

No sentido de "ficar enrolando para falar", "beat around the bush" é uma boa opção.

Until the next train comes, I guess we'll have to stand around doing nothing.
Sorry, but if you stand around out the front of a place like this you're gonna hear that kind of bad language.

They just goof around instead of working.
