One online friend asked me if a certain activity gave money
I answered: it doesn't give me money, just a lot of work.
I was wondering if it was a proper answer or there is a better sentence (or idiom).
I didn't consider to use "worth" because it will lack the sense of give work instead give money.

A forma natural é com make money.
[It is a lot of work, and it doesn't make money.]
Com um sentido similar, você poderia utilizar it's nothing but trouble.
P.S.: Não use it doesn't give money, only work. Evite-a.
Bons estudos.
