Also "she stood up from her seat and asked the student a question." In a specific way (related to schools) could be "chair/desk" etc. I mean, a desk or chair would be also a seat.
If we had also mentioned that it was in a class then it could be implicit, that is, we could just state that the "student stood up and asked a question".
