Essa frase você tirou de algum texto?

É que eu estou tentando entender o contexto disso aí. Tem como você explicar um pouco melhor?

Hello,

Faz parte de algo que estou escrevendo.
A situação é a seguinte:

O voo foi adiado porque estava nevando muito, mas no dia seguinte, o tempo estava melhor e o voo foi liberado.

So, the flight was delayed because it was snowing a lot, but on the next day, the weather was better and....
Please help me

Eu tentei encontrar isso, mas não achei muita coisa.

Eu vou continuar procurando, mas acho que você poderia usar algumas opções também.
Uma sugestão:

So, the flight was delayed because it was snowing a lot, but on the next day, the weather was better and they
Allowed us to take off

Vou continuar na busca.

Thank you so much for trying, I really appreciate it.

But I guess I'll just do as you suggested. It's for tomorrow, and unfurtunately I'm one of those people who leave things for the last minute. :)

God bless

Se tonrou uma questão de honra ;)

Thank you so much

I'm having a hard time thinking of a literal translation. you can say the flight was "cleared/ready for departure"

Thank you so much.

It doesn't have to be a literal translation, because I know English doesn't work that way, so I think your suggestions were great!!!

God bless you

Hi there!

The flight was delayed because of heavy snow. However, on the next day the weather was better so the flight was authorized to go ahead.

to go ahead

BBC News: half of Europe flights expected to go ahead.

Take care,

Daniel

The flight was resumed.
The flight was rescheduled.
The flight was cleared for takeoff.

(I am not happy with any of these, but they work.)
Thank you Thomas ;)
But, tell me...

Why do you say so?

O voo foi adiado porque estava nevando muito, mas no dia seguinte, o tempo estava melhor e o voo foi liberado.

My Suggestion :

The flight was postponed because it was snowing a lot. But on the following day the weather was better and the flight was cleared for takeoff.

Bye!

Luis, Breckenfeld added to what was said (saying something not said in the original Portuguese), but notice how much nicer the translation sounds than mine. Breckenfeld gave more background than I, more context. It's a superior translation, in my opinion.

"Liberar" is one of those words with so many possible translations. Context is everything. I remember hearing it in relation to medicationsin Brazil; I understood what the pharmacists were saying, but I did not have a concise translation for it into English.

My attempts were only "okay". Each one, I believe, was missing something. That is what I meant about not being happy with them although they worked.

já escutei uma vez Our flight is cleared for departure, mas estava uma chuvarada do lado de fora, então não sei se o comandante estava falando do tempo ou permissão para vôo. :?
