Como dizer "Logo eu que...." em inglês

Olá Pessoal,
Como traduzo para o inglês a construção "logo eu, que...." ?
Ex.: "Logo eu, que esperei tanto para ser feliz!"
Em um outro tópico foi sugerido que "logo eu" fosse traduzido por "why me", mas tenho a impressao que essa tradução não cabe na frase como um todo (soa estranho aparentemente) . Alguma outra sugestão??

Na minha opinião, a expressão "logo eu que...", deve ser escrita de forma diferente em inglês, veja:
Following the shock and impact of this accident, I was left asking the question why me? I had been driving with due care and attention.
Depois do choque e impacto do acidente, eu dizia "logo eu que estava dirigindo com cuidado e atenção."
Do Macmillan:
Why me? spoken: used when you cannot understand why you have been chosen to do something difficult or why something bad has happened to you.
Falaram que ela havia se casado. Eu disse: "Logo eu que esperei tanto para ser feliz"
They said she had gotten married. I said: "why me?" I had really hoped to be happy.

Na verdade seria meio que "por que tinha que ser logo eu que...?"
