That school is an elitist place (where ordinary people are not invited and cannot afford to go).

That school is a place where the elite, a selected privileged studies.
That school finds itself listed amongst the world’s most elite, a fair share of aristocracy is educated here.


Elitism has indeed several meanings to it, it could range from snobish to exclusive (and many more in-between, like TOP for example.), and to many the very fact of someone being educated in a private school would be a luxury to others.
Speaking of which, this topic took me to an item on The Atlantic where I found that president Carter was the only president ever that enrolled his daughter in a public school.
