Other way to say it: "It´s a case of medicine being worse than the disease/malady/ilness etc" curiously, the expression is in vogue these days, when they complain about the medicine prices, or about medicine that are sold on prescription or over-the-counter with side effects that make one think seriously about the necessity or the cost-benefit.


In the finance/economic talk, you can see more often the expression "the medicine that may kill the patient" or similar expressions.
