A palavra “nanar” do Português Brasileiro vem da canção “Nana nenê” mais eu penso que a palavra certa é “Ninar”.

“Nana nenê da cuca vem pegar, papai foi na roça mamãe no cafezal.”

Segundo alguns dicionários "lullaby" é também um verbo: "to quiet or soothe with or as if with a lullaby".

Mas parece ser pouquíssimo usado, uma pesquisa no google retornou apenas 12 mil resultados exatos para "lullabying" e 16 mil para "lullabied", o google ngram aponta que foram mais usadas no final do século XIX.

Questionando alguns nativos de Inglês, disseram nunca ter visto lullaby como verbo e apostariam que ela não existia se eu não tivesse mostrado o registro nos dicionários.

Ao invés disso recomendam "to lull".
