Depending on the context, we can use Past Simple Tense or Present Perfect Tense.

To warn = Avisar a; alertar; prevenir.
To tell = Dizer; dar notícia; avisar.

Jorge me avisou que íamos ter uma prova. = Jorge told me we were going to have a test.

O salva-vidas nos avisou sobre o perigo de nadar ali. = The lifeguard warned us about the dangers of swimming there.

I told you so!
- Bem que eu te disse!

I warned you (about it) before.
= Eu te avisei (sobre isso) antes.
= Eu te alertei (sobre isso) antes.

I told you (about it) so many times / several times.
= Eu te avisei (a respeito disso) tantas vezes.
= Eu te disse (a respeito) diversas vezes.

I've warned / told you.
= Eu te alertei / Eu tinha te alertado.
= Eu te disse / Eu tinha dito a ti.

The present perfect "I have warned" or "I have told" already includes the idea of from the past until now.

John: Eu fui nadar no rio e me afoguei.
>> I went for a swim in the river and I drowned.
>> I went swimming in the river and I drowned.

Mary: Nossa! Eu disse que você ia se afogar . O tanto que eu avisei e você foi mesmo assim.
>> My goodness! I've told you would drown. I've warned you and even though you went there.
