swing shift - second shift - afternoon shift
This shift begins around 4:00 PM and ends around midnight. (The last time I worked swing, I started at 3:45 PM and ended at 12:15 AM.) My dad worked graveyard (third shift - night shift) for years, and he would start at about 11:00 PM and get off at around 7:00 AM.
