I would think...
staples = produtos de consumo quotidiano, como pão, leite, sabonete, papel higiênico, etc.
high-demand products = produtos de grande demanda
Staple items are usually high-demand products because they're used every day. But you can have high-demand products in niche markets as well. For instance, according to a hair wig vendor, Brazilian hair is a high-demand product in his business. But it's not a consumer product that's used every day, so it's not a staple.

POWER QUESTIONS
Not sure of the meaning in Port but literally it says Products in great demand.
Good examples of the difference between high- demand products and staples. I guess high-demand products is a more encompassing word and stables is a more specific word. Staples is a type of high demand product but there are many other types also, like the I Phone etc.
I would just say: this product is in demand.
