Como seria a tradução da frase abaixo, sendo no primeiro exemplo a pessoa que participa de protesto e o segundo o adepto de uma religião

Acredito que vc possa usar Protestant em ambos os casos, a diferença virá com o contexto, mas se preferir pode dizer religious protestant

Há diferença. Note:
demonstrators/protesters = someone who shows that they disagree with something by standing somewhere, shouting, carrying signs, etc.
Protestant = a member of one of the Christian Churches that separated from the Roman Catholic Church during the 16th century
Detalhe, a palavra "Protestant" é sempre iniciada com letra maiúscula.
Além de "Protestant" há também outros termos associados como por exemplo:
"Protestant/Evangelical/Reformed movements"
Logo, as sentenças ficam assim:
"Four demonstrators/protesters were wounded and rushed to hospital."

De acordo com os dicionário Merrian-webster, The Free Dictionary entre outros, protestant pode ser usado nos dois casos, mas acredito que para a segunda definição(one who makes or enters a protest; making or sounding a protest) seja mais usado protester.
