Resolvi postar aqui algumas expressões bem interessantes. As expressões abaixo fazem parte da Newsletter que encaminho mensalmente (a que posto no momento é referente ao mês de janeiro). Aproveitem!

MEANING: Do something or get out of the way

- Strike while the iron is hot Aproveita enquanto é tempo
MEANING: When you have an opportunity to do something, do it before you lose your chance
Ex:This is the best time in the last ten years to buy a house. Strike while the iron is hot.
- Wet behind the ears Ingênuo
MEANING: young and inexperienced
Ex: John's too young to take on a job like this! He's still wet behind the ears! He may be wet behind the ears, but he's well-trained and totally competent.
- Above board: Transparente, honesto.
MEANING: If things are done above board, they are carried out in a legal and proper manner = Openly - without any trickery
Ex:The deal was completely above board.
- Skeletons in the closet: Esqueletos no armário
MEANING: If someone has a skeleton in the closet, they have a dark, shameful secret in their past that they want to remain secret. A secret source of shame, potentially ruinous if exposed, which a person or family makes efforts to conceal.
Ex: there must be a skeleton somewhere in that family's closet
- Raining cats and dogs Chovendo canivetes
MEANING: rain heavily
Ex: Put on your rain coat-- it's raining cats and dogs
