Como dizer "saída de praia/canga" em inglês
Gente, como eu digo canga/saída de praia em Inglês? Eu achei a palavra ''sarong'' no Mcmillan, mas não sei se isto é equivalente a uma canga, devido a sua definição. Olhem: sarong '' a long wide piece of cloth that is tied around the waist to make a skirt or at the shoulder to make a dress. It is worn by men and women in Malaysia and some other countries''-Mcmillan Dictionary

Sarong ou Sarung é um traje típico usado por homens e mulheres nos países Sul Asiáticos. A palavra Sarong foi incorporada ao idioma inglês como tal por ser tratar de algo um tanto cultural, pois no Ocidente esse traje típico cultural não é usado. Porém note que, Sarong ou Sarung ficou como sendo "canga", por ser a maneira como a vestimenta é usado ao redor da cintura, o que caracteriza essa vestimenta nos países Sul Asiáticos.
TESTE DE NÍVEL
Yes, "sarong" is a good translation for "canga". They are not common in the USA. I have found many cangas in Costa Rica, but I have seen few in other Central American countries. I was in Belize in January, for example, and I did not see a single one on the beaches.
Saída de praia:
Cover-up any of various women's garments, as loose blouses, jump suits, caftans, or sarongs, worn over a swimsuit, exercise clothing, or the like.

I also found "wraps and beach wraps". Comparing to "cangas" using Google image I think if they aren´t the one and the same thing, they are close.
Well, as I am not expert on the subject I will wait for you girls confirm or say otherwise.

Sarong or sarung is the only word in English used for 'canga' in Portuguese ... Well, at least up here in Canada.
Please note that cover-up as a noun, is any piece of garment that covers any part of the body (blouse, t-shirt, wifebeater and so on...).
Cover up as a verb, means that something is hidden by someone.
Hope this will help.

AMPLIANDO O VOCABULÁRIO
Moro na Florida e apesar de tantos brasileiros por aqui e inclusive o artista Romero Brito viver aqui e vender cangas, só mesmo brasileiros que conhecem e que compram. Portanto ja falam nome em portugues. Nunca criaram um nome em inglês, mas já ouvi dizerem "brazilian beach towels"
