Olá a todos. Eu gostaria de solicitar as sugestões de vocês sobre a tradução dessa expressão idiomática para o inglês.

Eu penso em traduzir como: "to suffer directly" ou "to suffer greatly". Qual dessas opções eu deveria escolher? Há outras que se encaixam melhor?

Meaning: To suffer inexplicable pain of some sort. However, the pain isn't necessarily physical. The usage of the word world doesn't always implicate how long the pain will exist, but rather the magnitude of it.

Meaning: To suffer damage or hurt.

He'll have to take a beating before he'll know.
