Have a nap
Examples:
- I usually take/have a nap after lunch.
- An afternoon nap
If it's a really short sleep, we could also say catnap.
- Robert slept badly, and had to have/take catnaps during the day.
If my memory serves me correctly, there is a post about that on English experts "to catch forty winks", though I believe this expression is more regional.
- I felt a lot better after I had/caught forty winks.
Cheers,

Doze - sleep lightly or for a short period of time
Sleep, snooze (informal), catnap, take a siesta, drowse
Example: For a while she dozed fitfully.
Cheers,

Doze off [cochilar]
I was watching a TV show when I dozed off.

Vale lembrar que, informalmente, nos EUA, por causa da influência mexicana, também se fala "have a ciesta" (meu deus, quantas vírgulas nessa frase...)
