Assisted treatment
Forced drugging
Involuntary treatment (also referred to by proponents as assisted treatment and by critics as forced drugging) refers to medical treatment undertaken without a person's consent. In almost all circumstances, involuntary treatment refers to psychiatric treatment administered despite an individual's objections. These are typically individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental illness and are deemed by a court to be a danger to themselves or others. [Wikipedia]

Thomas, you're familiar with the topic. What's the status nowadays? I know someone can be involuntarily hospitalized, or medically confined, for short periods of time (72 hours in Ontario, for instance), but there cannot be forced medication once the individual is conscious and able to make a choice, am I right? If so, involuntary treatment has to be understood to be limited in scope?Thomas escreveu:involuntary treatment
