Você poderia usar também o "have you finished your work?".

Did you finish your task?
Have you finished your task?
Did you finish your work at 7pm?
Have you already finished your work?

Have you already finished your work?
Are you done with your task ?

I agree with Paulo to a degree, but the very usage of "did" in the sentence would do the trick. It would suggest that either:
1)the time period is finished.
OR
2) the information is old.
OR still
3) the result of the action doesn´t persist.
Otherwise, the usage of "have'' is advisable and proper.

Plus:
In the sentence "Have you already finished your work?", "already" suggests surprise, that you didn´t expect the other person wouldn´t finish that work so fast! in Portuguese would be "Já terminou (o serviço)?
I would rather use "job" or "task" (mission/assignment) in this case, though, just one suggestion of mine.
