Aos meus ouvidos soa melhor dizer "Do you know Jone's whereabouts" em vez de "the whereabouts of Jones"

É gramaticalmente dizer "Do you know where she is" em vez de "where is she".

(Só um par de detalhes pequenos) ;)

Sempre achei que o correto (gramaticalmente) fosse "Do you know where is she?"

"Do you know where she is?" is correct. You can also just say "Where is she?" Maybe that is what you were thinking about.
