Como utilizar "track down"

Pessoal, oi!
Eu estava estudando e me deparei com esssa expressão e tive uma dúvida em relação a formação da frase usando "track down".
Exemplos:
That detective who tracks that man down [...];
That detective who tracks down that man [...]
Vi vários exemplos onde o objeto/pessoa a ser rastreado vinha entre e também no final da expressão. É opcional ou há alguma regra para essas mudanças?

It's optional, but if you use a pronoun instead of "that man", the pronoun must come in the middle of the expression. Check the examples below.
Both are right
- That detective who tracks that man down [...];
- That detective who tracks down that man [...]
This is also okay to use
- That detective who tracks him down [...];
But this one is wrong
- That detective who tracks down him [...]

It's optional. A speaker may choose one or the other for euphony or emphasis in a particular context, but both are correct.
