Comparativo e Superlativo de Advérbios em inglês
Guys,
Se possível gostaria de uma explicação rápida e objetiva do "Comparative and Superlative of Adverbs". No fórum há presente apenas para os "Adjectivies". A minha dúvida concentra-se principalmente na formação dos Irregular adverbs.
Thank you very much for helping!

Hello Annelies,
Sorry, but there are too many details to be considered, so this is not a quick explanation although it is indeed quite simple.
Grau Comparativo: É a estrutura do advérbio utilizada para comparar somente duas coisas (fatos, eventos, pessoas, animais, etc.)
A) AFIRMATIVA E INTERROGATIVA = as + ADVÉRBIO + as
- Tomoko speaks Portuguese as well as Maria.
- Does Luís come here as frequently as Marisa?
- I'll be there as early as possible.
- Do I drive as carefully as Ivan?
B) NEGATIVA = not as/not so + ADVÉRBIO + as
- Brian and his brother don't drive so carefully as Ivan.
- John doesn't work as hard as Billy.
Comparativo de Superioridade :
Com advérbios terminados em -ly usa-se = more + ADVÉRBIO + than
- They are used to come more frequently than the other guests.
- Paulo Coelho's books are more popularly known than Machado de Assis'.
- Sandra eats more slowly than Henry.
Com advérbios não terminados em -ly = ADVÉRBIO + er + than
- Liza walks faster than Sandra.
- In the snow, Jane drives slower than Ivan.
Comparativo de Inferioridade:
Com qualquer advérbio: = less + ADVÉRBIO + than
- Dog number 1 runs less fast than dog number 2.
- They come here less frequently than Sue.
Grau Superlativo: O Superlativo é usado para expressar a idéia de que algo dentro de um grupo se destaca, isto é, alcança o grau máximo (seja de qualidade ou característica ruim) no aspecto em que é comparado.
- Among all the boys, Kevin behaves the most politely.
- He snores the loudest of all.
Superlativo de Superioridade
Com advérbios terminados em -ly = the most + ADVÉRBIO
- Beth dances the most gracefully.
Com advérbios não terminados em -ly = the + ADVÉRBIO + est
- Susan drives the fastest of all.
Superlativo de Inferioridade: the least + ADVÉRBIO
- Amanda speaks the least clearly among the class.
Formas Comparativas e Superlativas Irregulares
Adverb - Comparative - Superlative
Well - better - best
Badly - worse - worst
Far -farther / further- farthest / furthest*
Little - less - least
Much - more - most
Em geral não se faz distinção entre "farther / farthest e further / furthest"
- I walked five blocks, my friend walked three blocks. I walked farther than my friend.
Take care!

TESTE DE VOCABULÁRIO
Seems like they are very similar to comparative adjectives, very very.
They’re formed just like a comparative adjective is created. If it’s a short word, adding an –er to the end will transform a regular adverb into a comparative one.
They’re formed just like a comparative adjective is created. If it’s a short word, adding an –er to the end will transform a regular adverb into a comparative one.
Explicação básica das básicas:
Advérbios que terminam em ly (equivalem ao nosso sufixo mente) exemplos: bravely (bravamente), carefully (cuidadosamente), slowly (vagarosamente, lentamente), seriously (seriamente):
Comparativo: use more na frente do advérbio:
More seriously
More bravely
More slowly
More carefully
Superlativo: use most na frente do advérbio
Most seriously
Most bravely
Most slowly
Most carefully
Exemplos:
People would take you more seriously if you stopped telling so many jokes.
Try to listen to English podcasts more carefully in order not to make more mistakes.
