Mudariam alguma coisa na frase abaixo>

If I realize that the injury is serious, I would call 911 straight away and then do my best to calm the kid while I wait for them to arrive. After that, I would call the parents and let them know what happened and how.

Por se tratar de oração envolvendo o condicional sugiro:

"If I realized the injury was serious, I would call 911 immediately and then I would do my best to calm the kid while waiting for them to arrive. After that, I would call the parents and let them know what happened and how."
