I'm reading a book in English and taking notes of its words I don't know, and with them, I can (re)write phrases with ten other different words, so I can improve my vocabulary. I've written many phrases below and I'd like to know if they're correct. I really want to know if there're grammar mistakes too. Thank you.
A) Now, I'm used to pen great books but I started to write essays.
B) There is a book of George Orwell that has a lot of his/its essays. - Exige detalhes. Os ensaios são do George Orwell certo? Se for do livro tem que usar "its".
C) Essays is the first step to be a writer.
A) He's a man of fierce hates.
B) You should control your hates.
C) Get rid of your hates and be a nice person.
A) All in all we're just fierce men.
B) Run! Those fierce animals are chasing us!
C) You should stop to think about the fierce totalitarianism.
A) He doesn't have a family besides his parents.
B) Besides her boyfriend, she has two other guys.
C) T-shirts, jeans, pants, skirts and besides on sale!
D) I really don't want to do it. Besides, I should be at home now.
A) I had been facing off the poverty when I was a child.
B) These children shouldn't be here. Look at this poverty!
C) I hope the poverty will have been eradicated one day.
10. First-hand/At first
A) Look at this paper! What do you think about this first-hand experience about helping poverty?
