Correção de "If you had the chance to be born again"

Hi there,

I have two sentences:

If you had the chance to be born again...

and

if you had the chance to born again...


I think that the first is correct. But just feeling... i can't understand. I really need use be ? Why ?!?!?!

if you had the chanse to be born again...

Me parece que vc está querendo fazer uma equivalencia com...
Se vc tivesse a oportunidade de nascer outra vez...
De acordo com o portugues, não parece haver a necessidade do "to be"

Mas, em vez de "nascer," pense do verbo "conceber":

Se vc tivesse a oportunidade de ser concebido outra vez... (infinitivo + participio)
Ela concebeu... (passado simples)

O verbo "to bear" funciona mais como "conceber," ou mesmo "criar":

If you had the chance to be born again...
She bore a child./ A child was born to her.

Não sabia porque deveria usar o to be antes do born.

Olá Pessoal,

E é o verbo conceber que tem maior história religiosa supra-biológica. Como verbo, seria to conceive. Como substantivo, se torna em conception:

Nossa Sra. da Imaculada Conceição = Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception.

Como verbo, conceive é muito utilizado tb (como em português) no sentido de entender, compreender, idealizar, etc.

"I can´t conceive of a situation like that."
"He conceived (of) a new way to describe the elements."

E tem seu paralelo em inglês com o nosso "inconcebível":

"It´s inconceivable to me that you should leave."

Finalmente, "conceivably" tb é muito usado para significar "uma hipótese distante mas ainda digna de consideração":

"Conceivably, we could speak of moon tourism at some future date."
