There are several kinds of buses lines at public transport in my city. Their working can be explained using their own colours. Blue buses connect two neighbourhoods going by the city centre. Yellow buses connect two nearby neighbourhoods within a same area. The buses that go by high-speed routes, taking the passengers rapidly to the centre are green, whereas red buses link other cities of metropolitan area to the capital.
The bus fare varies depending of the bus color. The fare of blue bus, the most common, costs, today, R$ 2,65. The fare can be paid in cash for the fare collector inside the vehicle or through the Metropolitan Transportation Card. This, costs R$ 2,00 and can be bought and recharged at any subway station or at some places around the city.
The subway is the easiest way to move for the city, despite covering a small area, to have few stations and, almost ever, to be late. It can be used simply to take you for a big station that has a connection with a bus system, saving your time.
The needs of infrastructure for the FIFA's World Cup brought a new system of transport called BRT (Bus Rapid Transport) that, when completely implanted, will link the city centre to stadium. This system allows a big ratio of boarding in a little time, easing the flow of vehicles during the competition avoiding traffic jam.
