If you (stop to) think about it, toys are part of everyone's life at some moment (in life).
*in brackets, it´s optional. In fact, I would leave out "stop to".
In fact, some of us use to play with toys even after we are grown ups.
Let´s not be sexists, what about grown women? so, grow ups (adultos) would be better here.
Certainly, toys would be good companions and in a way would somehow provide comfort, guidance and inspiration when we are in need. Like the imaginary friends that many children have, even if they know that they aren´t real.
On the other hand, our behavior would change and we would be a lot more sympathetic towards toys, once we could seem them in a more friendlier way, and not only as objects.
