Qual é a diferença entre "Devise" e "Invent"?
Vejo os dois como "inventar" mas não sei a diferença.

Devise - would be "inverntar" in the sense of "finding a way", it's when you develop something (a plan/ a method) etc.
Invent is usually used in the sense of "inventar" in the way we think in Portuguese.
In addition to that, there is also "inventar" when somebody says something about you that may be fake, someone spreading lies about somebody else.
That would be "make up" something:
She lied about him hitting her, and she made it up to harm his career.
