As a noun, they can be both used interchangeably meaning the desired result.
Aim, as a verb, means to intent or to point (an object, gun or camera) at a certain target.
Objective can also be used as an adjective, meaning straight forward or not influenced by someone else's point of view.
Here follow a few examples:
- My main aim is never to consider anything taken for granted.
- My main objective is never to consider anything taken for granted.
- Aim the first place but be glad if you reach the second or the third instead.
- If you aim your camera at the top of that hill, you will get better shots.
- Our purpose here is to come up with an objective rationale.
