As the expert commenter on the HuffPost would say is a "lox" dish - consists of the belly of the salmon according to the purists (I saw it translated into 'Salmon Sauvage' in French, though).

Anyway, we could basically say that the belly lox can be abbreviated to "lox" (it's not smoked), Nova lox (when coming from Nova Scotia), Cold-smoked Salmon, Gravlax (spiced).

Hot smoked salmon - is when it goes into the process of BBQ.

Poderia ser num restaurante, ou num buffet, alguém dizendo "veja já foram servidos os salmões a eles". (se já chegou o salmão lá na mesa 3, por exemplo).
