A maneira correta de se escrever é Avó ou Avô, mas se costuma dizer Vó e Vô. As crianças dizem Vovó e Vovô.
Patricia,
Muito Obrigado, I think I have it right. Portuguese is very hard.
My granddaughter, Maria Eduarda, is going to call me Grandpa Bill or Vovo Bill, and her other Grandpa she will call Vovo Mane.

I am lucky to find the keyboard, and while an old dog can learn new tricks it sometimes takes a little longer.

Some of my friends call theirs like this:
Grandpa: Opa
Grandma: Oma
From german influences.
Some other (includding myself) call theirs like this:
Grandpa: Nonno
Grandma: Nonna
From italian influences.
And that REALLY happens, I've never called mine the way [other] Brazilians do...
