Complemento:

Não se deve usar combinações que indicam plural, como "many", "few", "a few", "are", etc., com a palavra "news" (significando notícia). Se tiver que escolher entre "how much" e "how many", escolha "how much", porém "how much news do you have for me?" não é uma opção amplamente usada e natural, neste contexto, a meu ver.

- information or reports about recent events.
- a report of a recent event; information.

Refazendo a tradução da frase "The news is good": (a) "a notícia é boa", (b) "as notícias são boas". Vai depender do contexto.

Longman / Oxford

The news is good. [ = As notícias são boas. A notícia é boa.]

Lembre-se de que você não pode dizer "a news", "one news", "two news", "ten news", etc. No lugar, por exemplo, de "two news" (duas notícias) e "ten news" (dez notícias), diga "two pieces of news" e "ten pieces of news":
  • "Two pieces of news this week illustrated how much progress California is making on one of the main goals of the 2010 federal healthcare law." [Los Angeles Times - USA]
  • "So, here are the top ten pieces of news we have found for you." [thecelebritycafe.com - USA]
A pergunta acima (quantas notícias você tem para mim?) poderia ser melhor (mais naturalmente) dita com "what's new?".

What's new?: what things have happened since we last met? [Thefreedictionary]

Exemplos de uso:

Mary: Greetings, Jane. What's new? Jane: Nothing much. Bob: What's new? Tom: Not a whole lot.

Outras possibilidades: tell me the news; what's the news?; what's the latest?

Ex.: How are you? Tell me the news.

Dica adicional:

Eu acho que ficaria melhor: "What's up?" !

Hi there!

Creio que não seja adequado José Estaquio.
Veja "news" embora tenha um "s" é substantivo (comumente) incontável.
Podemos dizer "some news".
Many só seria usado para substantivos contáveis. Pelo menos essa é minha opinião ;)

Veja exemplos de uso de "news":

I have news.
I've got news.
I saw the news.
I have bad news.
Is it good news?

Can you tell me about that?
What can you tell me?
What's going on?
What's happening?
What´s the matter (dependendo por estar fora de contexto)

Cheers!

Mais algumas possibilidades:

Do you have any news for me?
Do you have some news for me?

Veja a diferença entre "any news" e "some news" aqui..

Also:

Do you have any news about...(the test, about Donay...etc)
Or
Have you heard the news about...(?)/(anything) about...
What have you heard about...(?)
Have you heard of (name of the person, the event, or thing)?

Or, if it´s something in general, as we say in portuguese "quais são as novas?", then "what´s up?" could be used. Or "how are you doing?" by way of general greeting.

How many news is definitely a no no!
