I Agreed with Cinnamon, to remember that, there is this rule of thumb.
This is precisely the quick and dirty tip offered by him: to remember that "you" takes precedence over "I" just like one must do in social etiquette. Knowing that, you can´t go wrong on that one.
On the other hand, the English speaking people "are selfish and show-offs" (grammatically) when are talking about " I
" is the center of the attention then, one can see that it´s the "bigger" pronoun
, don´t matter its position in a sentence/paragraph).
Yet when "you"
enter in the picture "I"
gets shamed of being such braggart and then "you"
comes first: hence "you and I".
I invented this little story as a helping mnemonics to recall the little above rule of thumb.
