É o título e parte da letra da musica do The Crush.
Eu fiquei em dúvida e espantado por ser "I fought the law" e não "I fought WITH the law" ou "I fought AGAINST the law". Será que algum expert aqui pode me esclarecer essa dúvida?

A pessoa não está lutando fisicamente com alguém. E sim fazendo esforço para para combater algo. Nesse sentido falamos. "Fight something".
