If I weren't Vs. If I wans't: Qual utilizar

ernando 2
Hi guys!

I was just writing an email when I tried to write what in English would be the equivalent of the Portuguese sentence "Experiências que eu não teria se eu não estivesse aqui". I started writing "Experiences I would not be living If I weren't here". Then I noted that even though people write "If I were" instead of "If I was" the way I wrote it (in the negative form) sounded weird for me since I had never used it this way before.

Do you guys know which of these is grammatically correct?

A) Experiences I would not be living if I wasn't (was not) here. or,
B) Experiences I would not be living if I weren't (were not) here.

Hope I had gave enough context,
Looking forward to hearing from you, and thanks in advance :D .

This is clearly a subjunctive case (a hypothetical proposition), so

Experiences I wouldn't be having if I weren't here.

We hear "if I wasn't" a lot, but it's poor usage.

Para confirmar:

Ele me perguntou se eu estava em casa fazendo o que. = He asked me if I was home doing what.
Ele me perguntou se eu estivesse em casa o que estaria fazendo. = He asked me if I were home what would I be doing.

Now try these:
Se não fosse fácil eu pediria ajuda. =
Se não for fácil eu peço ajuda. =
