Interest In x Knowledge of: Qual utilizar?
Hey guys,
I was teaching some days ago to an advanced student of mine and then, during the class, one exercise was suggested by the book (I work for a national school, I'm not a private teacher) and the answer given makes no sense to me. Take a look if you can help me:
She has a great ______________ American English.
Options: a) interest in
b) knowledge of
In my opinion the right answer would be "a", but the answer key of the book says it's "b". It simply makes no sense to me once knowledge is uncountable and there's "a great" in the sentence.
Help me if you haave the answer please. (:

COMO COMBINAR PALAVRAS EM INGLÊS

Gabriel,
Na minha opinião, as duas opções são possíveis. Tanto "knowledge" quanto "interest" admitem o artigo "a(n)".
Do Oxford online:
He has a wide knowledge of painting and music.
Do Longman online:
Ben has shown an interest in learning French.
==> Em inglês, algumas regras que sabemos possuem uma série de exceções, com isso, o melhor é se preparar a cada dia e não ficar muito preocupado com os "porquês".
Bem-vindo ao fórum!
