Me either x Me neither: Qual a diferença

Eu já ouvi mais "Me neither" quando negativamos algo que outrem também negativa ou negativou.

Ex.:

A: "I've never done that before." (Eu nunca fiz isso antes)
B: "Me neither." (Eu também não).

Acredito que não.. Falando "I neither" seria como falar "Mim também não".. é meio ao contrário o negócio

Agora "Neither do I" tbm estaria correto, alem de "Me neither"
