Olá pessoal tudo bem?

Qual a diferença de usar most e most of quando quero dizer maioria, poderia usar the majority ou é muito formal também?

Um abraço,

Olá Mackvader

Acredito que seria a mesma discriminação que se faria entre "a maioria concordou..." e "a maioria dos visitantes concordou." Na segunda estamos especificando o universo sendo considerado.

Alguns exemplos:
"There were a lot of people at the meeting. Most agreed with the speaker."
"Most of the large number of people at the meeting agreed with the speaker."

Nada errado com empregar "the majority."

"The majority (of people) at the meeting agreed..."

Olá Mackvader,

Como complemento, diria que "the majority" é mais formal do que "most".

a) Some were waiting, most were arguing.
b) Some were waiting, the majority were arguing.

Tanto "most" quanto "most of" estão corretos.

Hey guys, how are doing?!

I was studying a little bit when I came across this doubt... "Most" or "Most of"?

Even though the dictionary seems to say that both are correct, I'm still not sure about it.
Just look at those examples:

'Most of these pictures were taken in Barcelona'

'Most pictures were taken in Barcelona'

Although the first one sounds more specific, can I say both??
Please, give me more examples if you know anyone.

Thank you in advance!

Pelo contexto dado para mim a primeira é a correta este ''of these'' certamente indica que as pinturas estão realmente perto da pessoa.

Outras opiniões irão vir, vamos esperar.
