Música: Linkin' Park - Leave out all the rest
Oi pessoal, tenho 2 dúvidas em um trecho da música do Linkin' Park "LEAVE OUT ALL THE REST":
I dreamed I was missing.
You were so scared,
But no one would listen
'Cause no one else care.
After my dreaming, (DEPOIS DO MEU SONHO)
I woke with this fear.
What am I leaving, (O QUE EU ESTAREI DEIXANDO)
When I'm done here?
As dúvidas estão em negrito. Por que "dreaming" está como "SONHO" e não como "SONHANDO".
Por que ESTAREI no futuro? Não tem nenhuma indicação, nenhum auxiliar permitindo LEAVING estar no futuro...não entendo.
A tradução está errada?
abç, obrigada!

Hi!
Smoking costs a lot of money.
Making "Titanic" was expensive.
Smoking cigarettes costs a lot of money.
I am meeting some friends after work.
Mas o caso aqui não parece ser esse.
Eu traduziria a frase como "O que eu estou deixando?"
Em inglês é comum usar o verbo no gerúndio como sujeito, objeto ou complemento de uma sentença .BugsBunny escreveu:Por que "dreaming" está como "SONHO" e não como "SONHANDO".

O present continuous pode ser usado para falar de um futuro próximo.BugsBunny escreveu:

Obrigada pela ajuda!
Pesquisei um pouco mais e parece plausível acrescentar que em: After MY dreaming, (DEPOIS DO MEU SONHO). O DREAMING aparece como SONHO e não como "sonhando" porque está localizado após um ‘POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVE’ = MY.
Então, depois de um 'PRONOUN' ou de um 'POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVE' o verbo também receberá o -ING.

It's almost that way.
A noun or pronoun linked immediately with a gerund should be in the possessive case.
Because a gerund acts as a noun, that means that if a noun or a pronoun precedes it, that noun or pronoun must be in the case that will allow it to modify another noun- i.e, the possessive case. For example, the noun "dream" wouldn't be preceded by the objective case of a pronoun or the plain form of a noun:
~This is me dream.
~This is him dream
You would use the possessive forms of the nouns and pronouns to modify the noun:
~This is my dream
~This is his dream
Since a gerund is a noun, just as "dream" is a noun, the same rule applies: Use the possessive form to modify the gerund.
