Thomas escreveu:I am a native speaker of English and I often misunderstand lyrics. There are even jokes among Americans about lyrics that are misunderstood. I believe one joke comes from a Credence Clearwater song. At one point in the song, everyone thinks the singer is saying "There is a bathroom on the right." Actually, he is saying, "There is a bad moon on the rise." I love Anita Baker, but I cannot always understand her. I would have sworn, for example, that in one song she was singing "Lonely nights" but I learned the word is actually "Loneliness".
If you will go to various lyric websites, you will find that different people give entirely different transliterations of the words to the songs. This is very, very common.
